Staged over 5 days, Glastonbury Festival is a festival of contemporary performing arts which takes place in Pilton, Somerset, in England. In addition to contemporary music, the festival hosts dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and other arts. With a capacity of 147,000, it is the largest outdoor festival of music and performing arts in the world and is famous for hosting some of the biggest and best artists in the world.
As well as being famous for the festival, Glastonbury itself is is a small and wonderful hippy town in Somerset, it is full of some of the most wonderful and kind people that you will meet. People flock there as it is well known as a hippy town full of beauty and spirituality with interesting shops and sights.
Worthy Farm, the home of Glastonbury Festival, is around 15 minutes drive from the town itself so is definitely worth a wander round during your time at the festival.
