A prosthetic leg

Coach driver Alex set the bar high (or possibly low?) by admitting he once found an entire prosthetic leg left behind on his coach. We’re not sure what’s more surprising: that someone forgot it, or that it wasn’t missed immediately.

“It was just lying there under the seat,” Alex told us. “We thought someone had brought it as a spare!”

Not one, but two condom wrappers

One driver from City Coach Hire said he found a discarded condom wrapper while tidying up the aisle – and he’s not the only one. Another coach operator reported the same find on a separate occasion.

Not exactly the kind of thing you want to discover during your post-journey sweep…

A full set of fake teeth

Yes, really.

A coach operator told us they found a set of false teeth nestled between the seats after a particularly long job. We can only assume their owner took them out for a nap – and forgot to pop them back in.

“They weren’t in a case either – just sitting there. We didn’t know whether to laugh or be horrified.”

Underwear, tampons… and car keys?

One driver gave us a full bingo card of bizarre items found over the years: underwear, tampons, car keys – all left behind by passengers, sometimes on the same trip.

It’s the kind of chaotic energy we’d expect from a school trip or hen do, not a cross-country coach journey.

Perhaps our favourite story came from a coach company who said that after completing a long-haul job, they found something very unexpected still sitting quietly on the back row: one of their own operators.

“He’d dozed off after helping out and no one noticed. We only realised he was missing when he texted from the depot car park an hour later!”

It turns out, coach drivers have seen it all
